Of late, I have been reading a lot on obsolete practices of SEO. Some authors even went down to pen that SEO has no future and is on the brinks of the extinction.
Well, that is one thing I can’t help with. It is because, if you own a space on the web, you are its sole proprietor and have all rights to post content at your will.
Similarly, this is the space which I use to interact with people and love to share whatever knowledge I have of my professional experiences. I don’t find it ethical and necessary to discuss any particular person, entity or source here, rather, let’s have a good discussion, why many people feel SEO is going down, and how exactly it’s not like that.
In my opinion, people who don’t make enough development after investing in SEO, develop such negative ideas about the art of making search engine friendly websites. The whole idea of SEO is to bring relevant help and services to the rescue of customers.
Let’s say you are searching for a “coffee maker” and don’t have an idea; how to find one online. So you search for a quality product on the internet and find one which is in your budget, have great customer reviews and is delivered right to your address at free shipping charges.
This is the opportunity which SEO bakes for the vendor.
So, SEO is Not Dying at least Today or Tomorrow
While many people feel SEO is nearing a painful death. I don’t find so.
Why do I feel so? Right?
Let me explain that:
People Will Not Stop Searching
Curiosity is one of those human traits that has left impressions in the Mars. So, I see it like, people will always keep searching online for information.
With more innovative and exotic add-ons for desktop web browsers and smart phones, things will get even simpler; and that’s the primary aim of SEO. Making things simpler for businesses and their customers.
The purpose of Search Engine Algorithms
Maybe the ever changing updates in search engine algorithm trigger the idea of extinction of SEO. There is no denying the fact that big guns like Google keep changing its algorithms.
We had Panda and Penguin updates. Even plenty of versions of them. Then we witnessed Hummingbird which shook the webmasters, worldwide. I personally feel, search engine updates are bringing market competition to normalcy in a way, which otherwise is throat cutting these days.
These updates ensure everyone survives. Small SEO agencies to bigger digital marketing enterprises have a fair opportunity. It’s obvious that experienced and bigger marketing teams are better equipped to track down any possible changes and play around with search engine algorithms.
User Friendliness of SEO
SEO is very user-friendly. The primary aim of doing SEO is to serve users and then get your due share. You can’t simply post links and get the desired sales or marketing impetus you need for your brand.
Customers give preference to attractive content and therefore you should focus on preparing content-rich campaigns. Simply listing links here and there will affect your marketing score adversely.

I won’t deny the fact that standard of SEO these days have been compromised by many, but not everyone believes in substandard work. There are SEO agencies and professionals, who spend hours in creating meaningful content which can be served to customers.
Resources like directories and article submissions are already out of fashion, because of their highly promotional character. So, it is predictable that SEO practices will only get better and polished by each passing day. All I can say is SEO is not dying; it’s marching for a shining glory.
For me, it’s not difficult to presume many people will contradict with my thoughts. So, I always would love to hear their concerns. Leave your thoughts in the comment and we shall discuss!
