Marketing Forecast for 2017 and Beyond

As a marketer, one needs to keep track of current trends. As you develop, it becomes important to learn and evolve with the changes. Following trends is always handy, it should keep you in the business.

Moving a step further, I would rather be forecasting future trends for marketers. This is entirely my perspective; largely based on the recent developments in marketing and SEO domain.

Tools like Google Attribution is officially introduced to the marketers at the Google Marketing Next 2017. This tool right now is in beta phase, but still, have made a lot of stir in the digital marketing fraternity.

The approach of today’s customers plays a significant role in most of this development. The acceptance of voice recognition system by the consumers is another technology, which is red hot at present.

With all these projects brewing up, let’s see what can happen in future.

How Future will Shape Up for Marketers

One thing will remain common in the future market, i.e. competition in each market segment is going to explode irrespective of where you are in the business cycle. Let’s have a quick glance at some of the marketing forecasts for 2017 and beyond:

Video Marketing in Future

Video marketing is the future of content marketing. Mostly in last 2-3 years, we have seen publishers like Google, Facebook, YouTube, etc, streamlining video ads on their respective platforms. So, what video marketing is doing on this list.

It’s because of the recent trend I have noticed on my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram timeline. Whenever I scroll around any of these timelines, I notice more video shares and ads.

Facebook Live has made video uploading more fun for users and brands are also coming up to meet their consumers at that touch point. And as I write this, here is something popped into my Twitter account. It’s really insane, and it’s good.

Twitter Message

So, in future, video marketing will be done on a massive scale, that’s for sure.

Voice Search

No doubt, it’s already there. iPhone has Siri for a long time now and it’s doing great. Google Assistant is working fine for Android users. So, what’s new on the card here.

With more and more businesses integrating to Google My Business, Google is serious about voice search. With the ease of operation it has in creating great user experience; refining this technology to the optimum is yet a challenge to be tackled.

Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP)

The popularity of smartphone users with the Internet is a reason Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) is making so much noise. Enterprises and startups in the mobile technology are seriously working on AMP for enhancing user experience on mobile phones.

Businesses these days are quite concerned about their website’s performance on the smartphones and tabs, as they realize getting to customers on mobile devices will be more important than ever in the future.

Growing Importance of SEO

The importance of SEO is a subjective topic. Where some experts claim it’s not as fruitful as it was when SEO started. It was really very easy to build links then and get to top ranks of search engines. But, things now have changed.

The SEO guidelines keep changing and most of it for good. These days customers remain at the focal point of SEO. Search engines are very comfortable with content which is made to serve the purpose of users.

However, let’s understand that SEO will never fade away into oblivion because the whole web is a planet of links only. Whatever is there on the internet is accessed through a link. So, links will be important in future as well, but it should be accompanied with relevant and user obliging content.

Artificial Intelligence

We are in an age, where robots do a wider range of activities than a human can do. That’s a reality we are living with. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the mainstay of future development. Medical science to engineering and data scientist to marketers everyone is relying on it up to certain extent.

Most ad publishing platforms are already using AI. It tracks down browsing the history of the user and displays the relevant ads. This is a good example for use of AI in marketing. So, the use of AI in marketing is already there, it will only touch higher in future.

These are few innovative future marketing trends I can think of as of now. Though, it can’t be denied that more technologies will surface into the scene and many will be morphed from their present structure to become a completely different product.

This forecast will give you insight into the marketing trends to be in the future. How far or less likely it will happen or not, is still not known. Let’s see what future has in the offing.
